Born in between two contrasting cultures such as Japan and Portugal, Yumi has always felt a deep interest in understanding different cultures, and developed an extensive experience in inter-cultural communications.

Through her professional experience in different parts of the world, Yumi has been specializing in verbal communication.

As Director at Dai Nippon Printing Co Ltd, Yumi worked with leading Japanese brands from different industries, communicating brand image and developing product packaging.

Using her cultural business experience , Yumi worked as a ‘bridge’ to facilitate business and cultural interchange between Japan and Portugal, coaching many executives and managers.

As the Coordinator of the Portuguese Pavilion at the Expo 2005 in Aichi, Yumi was deeply involved in communicating ,influencin and presenting various aspects of Portuguese culture to the Japanese audience, leading the pavilion staff, promoting events, and dealing with the media and VIP visits.

Yumi also worked for a Social Enterprise in India as branding specialist. She was involved in a humanitarian project aiming the empowerment of Indian women in their local livelihood through the development of eco products made from recycled materials.

Yumi has a Bachelor degree in Graphic Communication from the University for the Creative Arts (Farnham, England), and Business Administration and Management at the Portuguese Catholic University (Lisbon, Portugal).

Yumi is native Portuguese and Japanese speaker with fluency in English and very good understanding of Spanish and French.
